I'm having an issue with Permissions as it relates to the HTML Pro module. Here's my scenario;

  • I'm running DNN Pro v 6.02.02
  • I've got two Roles, Editors and Approvers
  • I've created a new page, and given Editors and Approvers access to View the page
  • I've added an HTML Pro Module to the page, and would like to allow the Editors to edit the contents of the HTML Pro Module. To do that, I've done the following;
  1. Unchecked the "Inherit View permissions from Page"
  2. Allowed (Green check mark) for View and Edit Content boxes on the Permissions tab

The problem is, when I go to the new page, signed in as user in the Editor Role, I can see the HTML Pro COntent, but I cannot edit it. Am I missing something?

Thanks for any feedback,

Chuck

Chuck, as a DNN Pro user, you have access to email support, check your documentation for details.

Go to:

admin --> extensions --> html pro --> edit this extension

Now grant your 2 roles access to that module.

Pingle, thanks for the reply. You bring up a great point, and one that I've been (sub)consciously avoiding. After your post, I found a couple of references to defects in the Permissions module. So, while I try to look at my code first for an issue, I suspect there may be a larger problem here. Especially in light of the fact that one of the users in the role behaves correctly, while another user with the same permissions (in the same roles) does not behave as I'd expect.
