Evening all

I am using the Journal with DNN7 on www.elycity.co.uk.

Really struggling to find out how you add an alt and title to each of the images within the journal.

Im down 39% on SEO as a result! Any ideas?

The thing to understand about the journal module is that everything is handled by service calls and ajax - so as such you need to dig deeper into the source code to make sense of a lot of what is happening.  And now while this is all kinda cool - there is also a lot of hard coding going on to drive how things actually happen.

The journal ServicesController.cs is where most of the action starts - and in this case its thru a call to the GetListForProfile() methd and then into the JournalParser.cs file and the JournalParser class - the most important method of which in this case is the GetList method.

The JournalParser points to a resource file ~/DesktopModules/Journal/App_LocalResources/SharedResources.resx -  this is the file you need to edit.

Inside that resource file are currently 4 templates:

journal_status
journal_link
journal_photo
journal_file

you need to edit the contents of these templates to make any changes happen to the layout code for the journal  --  but you do need to be careful - on wrong slip and the journal will potentially stop working - also be aware that pretty much any updates to dnn could wipe your alterations.

As such - i would suggest you log a ticket regarding the need for alt tags as a support ticket as well and hopefully it will get integrated at some point down the track.
