Hi.
We have a requirement to host 2 or more of our third sector clients who residing in the same area also share some common data like whats on and breaking news.
We were think on setting them up as seperate Portals on our DNN instance.

I believe (and I have seen the sharing across portals tick box ) it is possible to share modules across multiple portals, but the scenario is that whoever of these clients update the module the others see the data.
Just how practical is this?, they are not huge sites but what happens when 2 users update at the same time? is there a check out option (bearing in mind they are on different portals).

Any advice on a better approach is more than welcome.

Hi
When you install a module to a website it will become available to all portals. Now when you use a module in a portal then by default that is limited to that portal only. So in order to achieve your requirement you have to build custom module. And of course this can be done.

Hi,

You can do this with DigArticle.  You can share across portals two different ways.  1) You can tell DigArticle to pull from an article source on a different module on a different portal.  2) You can combine multiple Article sources from multiple portals to make a combined "source".  Check it out, we have a 15 day trial.
