I installed the latest version of the WillStrohl content slider to my website and received the following error afterwards.

Runtime Error :

Could not load file or assembly 'WillStrohl.Modules.ContentSlider' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'WillStrohl.Modules.ContentSlider' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded.

I realised afterwards that I had installed a version not compatible with DNN6.1. I the went onto my control panel and completely deleted the module from my registry. This hasn't solved the problem. Any ideas what to try next?

Delete  WillStrohl.Modules.ContentSlider.dll file from the bin Folder of your instance.  Be sure all artifacts of the module are deleted from the DesktopModules Folder of your instance.
