I have several modules that are overlapping other modules. At first I thought it was because it was the simple gallery module and I needed to adjust settings, etc.  But now I notice that I am having this issue with the HTML modules on the front page of my site. I can't find any unclosed tags, and not every module does this. Any suggestions? All help appreciated.

most likely this is caused by the skin applied to your website, check by temporarily applying default skin.
Another option might be inline CSS conflicting with the layout of your website.

What could be going wrong in the skin to cause this? It seems to be a problem wherever there are images or videos.  Any ideas of why the CSS would be a problem?

Well, after a two day hunt and peck operation, I have determined that one line in the skin.css was the culprit. I had to change this:

 .NOLW-Bcontent-layout
{
   display: table;
   width: 100%;
   table-layout: fixed;
}

To:     table-layout: auto;

Thanks for your assistance. You were correct.
