Hello,

Does anybody know if there's a way to have a group "Moderator" who can't delete/change a group, but who can delete posts made to a group's journal?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,
Unfortunately there isn't anyway to do this beyond making them a Group Owner. I think this would be a good idea for an enhancement.

Ok - thanks, Will.

Yes, that would be helpful. I also realized that it would be great if there could be some mechanism for additional group data - like group-level profiles. As an example, I want groups to have a "Website" field... but I can't do that. Of course, it's silly to add a website field for all of DNN... But, if there'd be some way to have a simple profile system where custom group fields could be created, that would be pretty amazing. Then, those fields could be exposed in the token replace for the groups module.

Anyway - thanks,

Mike

Mike,
We do have the ability for you to associate additional data with a group using RoleSettings. This is exposed in the API, but not UI. The Token/Replace that is built into the Groups Profile module will also handle any additional properties you assign to a group. You can use the existing token format, but just use the name of the RoleSetting instead of the property. Here is a list of all the tokens that we have by default.

Thanks Will - that's very helpful.

I'll check out the RoleSettings API and see what I can find.

Hope all's well,

Mike
