I am currently looking at the possibility of adding a new section to the Community area where we would show curated content from the web.  Primarily this would be a location for us to highlight great DNN specific content, much the same way that Microsoft does on the www.asp.net homepage.  I don't want content to be automatically posted, but rather for a content manager (potentially a trusted member of the community) to review and post items of interest.

I am currently reviewing B5DnnCuration but would love to find any other options that might be available as either a commercial module or even an Open Source module. Is anyone aware of any modules that can handle this scenario?

Hi Joe,

Would an Article module suffice?  It sounds like DigArticle can do what you are looking for.  Especially with it's custom fields, you can do a lot of interesting stuff.  This isn't exactly what you are looking for, but here is an example of the dynamic stuff you can build with DigArticle.  DigArticle actually has a "mode" designed for this case where it's just linking to external content.  It has a URL field on each article where you can specify the url to the external content.  You can see it being used here at the "More Top Stories" section in the bottom left. The Author's image can be on a DNN User you assign to the article, or maybe an image attached to a Category, there are a few ways to skin that cat.  Let me know if you are interested, I'll donate a copy if you would like to use it.  We have a free trial on our site www.dignuke.com if you want to check it out.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

The key piece that I would like is to automate the import process to use an approval workflow so that importing from a feed would allow me to choose articles to accept or articles to reject.  It might be worth getting on a short skype or Google Hangout to talk through what I am looking for.  Send me an email at my joe dnncorp.com account and we can talk further.
