If we already have a database of username and password, can they be used to login DNN?  (Basically I dont want to store any credentials to DNN DB but have to authenticate the DNN that the user is logged in.)

I have come across this "AuthXP" Basically it is a DNN custom login extension that allows login to DNN using accounts from external database.  But i couldnt find any link to download it. I guess it is not maintained.

looks like http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/page/... needs updated as a number of external connector providers are no longer available as the links are now 404's (you could of course write your own) - I see http://store.dnnsoftware.com/home/pro... in the store, but have never used it

That's Mitchel Sellers' creation and, like everything he does, it is first class! Highly recommended. The module comes with excellent documentation and support.

Thanks for your reply, Basically i'm looking for something like this, I have my API which will tell whether the credential is authenticated or not, based on that I have to fake the DNN Authentication without inserting any records to User table or any other table in DNN DB. I dont want to save any user related records in DNN DB, but I would want to create a User object  in the local and set the cookies to use it through out the application.

Hi, I got stuck in this. Is there any way to crack it? I have overridden the MembershipProvider to call our api, to get the user object even then i couldn't  make it work.
