What I meant by it didn't work, is that even in layout mode I couldn't visit the page to delete the module.

So maybe it's possible the module isn't what broke the page, but it's the only thing I can imagine thats different.

you might be able to delete the module when viewing page properties in Admin > Page Management - I would give it a try ;)
