Dear DNN Pros,

Please help.

What is a good development process for Razor CSHTML files in DNN 8.0.3 here?

Right now, I am using the Razor Host Module, so my code is saved as CSHTML files in the file system on the target server where my DNN instance is hosted.

Basically, I am in an environment where I cannot use a lot of 3rd party components in DNN, and I have to use what is built-in and out-of-the-box when shipped with DNN itself.

So, I am using the standard DNN HTML module for pages that have static content, and where I have to do programming I am using Razor CSHTML pages.

So, I am now developing my Razor CSHTML locally, on my own workstation, in Visual Studio 2015 Community.

After testing locally, I then use copy-and-replace, to push/deploy the CSHTML files to the target physical folder where the CSHTML files exist on the machine that hosts my DNN instance.

This seems like a good and basic way to do Razor CSHTML development in DNN, as I can easily version my CSHTML files, and track changes, and rollback as needed.

So, assuming I need to use Visual Studio 2015 Community as my Razor CSHTML editor, and assuming I need to version my code, and assuming I must have process to promote code from development to staging and then from staging to production, is my development process (as described above) a good way to go? Or, is there a better way to go?

What do you think?

Please advise.

Thanks.
