I'm new to DotNetNuke and I downloaded the events source. I found a .zip file with a vbproj file in it. I extracted the files and opened up my Dotnetnuke 4.5 VS2005 solution. I Added the events vbprog to the solution. It made me convert  the project (it must have been written in vs2003) When I went to compile I received a ton of errors. Am I doing things correctly. I want to include the event source withing my Dotnetnuke solution so I can compile/modify the project

You'd be better off opening the module in VS2003 and compiling it there. I don't believe the Events module has been converted to a VS2005 project. You can convert it yourself, though it'll take a bit of work and understanding to do so. I believe there's also a module upgrader available, check the blogs from Charles Nurse as I think he covered it quite a while ago.
