My users are interested in two things:

1.  To allow for more event times then every 30 min.
2.  More color possibilities (read priorities) for events.  I think it has to do with the reading them and they look like they are all one event intead of many.

Anyone know anything I can do?  I went in to modify the code with a simple color change from blue to orange via the source just as a test.  I copied the DLL's out to my test site and it totally killed the whole site so I think me making the modifications in the code is currently out of the question.  But if you have a technical solution I would be willing to work on that as well.

Please if anyone can help I would be interested in your insight into these issues.

Events only allowing every 30 min seems unreasonable.
And the events seems to blend together without some kind of alternating color scheme for events all in one calendar day.

In Edit mode, as a user with Editing rights, you should be able to select the Events module's settings menu and change the event frequency to every 1 minute if you desire. I suspect that the drop down lists that seem to plague Dot Net Nuke will list every blasted minute of the day, and not just list the major ticks, or create other havoc, but the option is already there. I've not tried this though.

If the events are assigned different categories, they will show up in month view in those different colors. However, as that only affects the background behind those letters, not the entire width of that part of the day cell, I think it looks cheesey. I recently disabled it on the site I'm currently working on. With some programming experience you should be able to change this bahavior, but I'm unable to provide any guidence on this yet.

VashJaun  is exactly right...in version 3.3.7/8 of the module, the frequency is adjustable and effects the dropdown list on the edit/add event form.  This was a requirement several years ago...and made sense because of the difficulty of support manual data entry of the start/end time of the event.  It was creating confusion when users from different countries (w/different date/time formats) had difficulty determining the correct format for manual entry.

As for the Category colors, we are not totally happy w/it either.  A large part of what makes this somewhat kludgy is the use of the .NET Calendar Control for the Month event.  If anyone has a suggestion for re-writing the MS .NET Calendar Control, please let us know...  One idea may be to use the .NET Calendar Control, but implement only a single, scrollable table/div tag inside of each cell...this would allow us to color the background of each row, rather than the text behnd the event (as it currently does).  It also would bound the cell to the exact size desired...the only thing it does not solve is how display events that span multiple days and "all day" events.  Again, any UI/.NET Control experts that wish to contribute code, please help us out!
