.I am getting this error: Unexpected end of file looking for </asp:panel> tag -- when going to add an event.

Any ideas?

Did you ever find a solution to this?

I have seen this error several times, but could never figure out what is causing this.

the only place (that I found) that uses and asp:panel is Login.ascx, but everything is fine there.

I have recopied over Login.ascx from the DotNetNuke_04.06.00_StarterKit folder and it takes care of it, but it's very irritating having to do this all of the time and not being able to figure out why it happens.

I've only seen this error message in my development envoirement (VWD) when I edited EditEvents.ascx, but never had problems at runtime!

The EditEvents.ascx has a very wired HTML-structure starting with a <TABLE> nested in a <p>-tag (not allowed!)... <p> has no end tag, <table> has no end tag... one <TBODY>, two </TBODY>.... and so on!
When I cleaned up this mess, suddenly the errormessage of "missing </asp:panel>" disappeard (without adding/removing a asp:panel tag)!

Perhaps cleaning up the EditEvents.ascx will help...
