Hi All,

I'd like to see how many users are interested in a basic calendar module.  No events registration, ecommerce payments or other fancy feature creep.  Just a calendar with calendar mode, list mode and event enheritance from sub calendars.  Right now there's nothing like this for DNN, all the alternate calendar modules have fallen into decay.

If there is enough interest, then I can see about starting one.

Currently I or my customers don't need any of the notification, enrollment or moderation features. So if there was a slim Events module with just the features you mentioned, plus some kind of templated output for the different views, like the Repository module, or even with XSL stylesheets like the UsedDefined Tables module, I would really appriciate that. Also the chances that a slim module would be bug-free are higher :-)

Unfortunately I'm no programmer, so I cannot really help with the development, but I could assist in beta-testing and documentation. Also, there has been am earlier offer by a user to create a new module version (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/20/threadid/191829/scope/posts/Default.aspx), but I don't know if it's still valid.

My offer is still valid. I've sent a number of messages to the responsible DNN coördinator (and got little feedback), but to no real result (project structure) so far. It is problably a lot of work for too few people.

I've been in contact with one of the DNN core members (Erik van Ballegoij) here in the Netherlands recently and decided today (with him) that I will start to put the Events team together. I will contact the people who have offered help (thank you) and see how we can produce a decent DNN4 version with bugs fixes within resonable time. The formal DNN structure will come when it is (they are) ready.

Stay tuned.

I agree that we need a simple calendar devoid of some of the features that currently exist with the Events module.  I've seen some great php calendars that I'd like to see emulated in DNN.   I agree that a good, basic calendar would be desireable - no need for registration, etc.

I modified the Events module to give me: Simple Events It has some added functionality but most of the extras in Events were removed.
