Is it possible for an event module to only show a certain catagory by default?

Matt,

To add to Roger's posting.....

What I think you want to do is have multiple calendars that roll up in to a Master Calendar.  Use a single events module for events in a particular "category".  Add those as sub-calendars to a "master" calendar.
