I just upgraded a DNN core from 4.08.02 to 4.09.01 and all the events in the events module are gone. Is there an easy to restore these items or do I just have to reenter all the events and settings?

I am not aware that upgrading DNN would cause events of the Events module to be lost. I have not heared this before.

What version of the Events module are you using?

I was using version 03.03.08 and it upgraded to whatever came in the core update. I have since rolled back the core update and everything is back to normal.

The core update zapped many modules including the link module and blogging along with the events module. It even broke the FCKeditor which wouldn't work because it couldn't find many base styles. I even tried the core update a second time but had to roll that back again due to the same problems.

I am thinking now I want to just wait until there is a stable release of DNN ver. 5.x but I don't know if there is an easy way to migrate established sites from one installation of DNN to another.

In theory 3.3.8 should work on DNN 4.9.1, but then I've never tested it. I would suggest upgrading 3.3.8 to 4.0.2 (there are many, many bug fixes in 4.0.2), then try upgrading DNN. It may also be worth you upgrading the other modules as well to current versions. Please note from the Downloads page the minimum DNN version for each modules, and make sure that you are keeping things in sync.

I've not tried to migrate in the way you suggest here, but then my sites have always upgraded in a 99% intact state.

Actually I did upgrade to 4.02 from the Hosts/Module Definitions page by checking the box for the Events Module and clicking the update link. The events were still gone when the upgrade was performed. I tried the core update twice and had to roll back both times for the same problems. Links, blog, and FCKeditor all were busted in one way or another and updating the modules did not fix them and I have no idea how to fix the problem with the FCKeditor. In it's folder there are three fckconfig.js files in the subfolders. Two are essentially the same and the third is missing the default styles.

Can you suggest which part of this forum would be best to address the problem with the FCKeditor?

It would be most helpful if the event module had an import/export content function like some of the other moduels (links, text/HTML, etc.)

Thank you for your responses.
