Version 5.02 Upgraded existing module 4.02 Running on DNN 4.9.4

Custom Fields names are not handled consistently. When I click SAVE from Admin\languages\editor\EventList.ascx I lose the custom fields. Now they appear in List view as CustomField1 etc. Also Event Detail does not use the replacement name, instead shows CustomField1 or 2. On the other hand, Add Event shows the correct name for CustomFields.

Hi Penny,

This is because of some changes in 5.0.2 where we have added templating of many aspects of the GUI. You will need to update SharedResources.ascx.resx not EventList.ascx.resx. Note that there are two sets of 'Custom' labels in there - TokenCustomFieldXLabel.Text and CustomFieldX.Header. The ones in EventList.ascx.resx can be removed.

Cheers
Roger

That worked fine.

Next problem, when I modify the EventDetailsTemplate.text to move the [DISPLAYCUSTOMFIELD1] up to the top, the change does not take.

Also on the Event Details, the change I made to Category localized value (renamed to Lead) does not show, it does now show on the Events List and Month View

Hi Penny,

The way the templates work, is that they get there initial value from the resx file, which allows for localisation of initial values. These are then edited via module settings in the templates section and stored in the database, which allows for templating on a per module instance basis. So you need to edit the template via module settings.

Since the detail page is templated, it uses the [event:categorylabel] token which is TokenCategoryLabel.Text in SharesResources.resx

Cheers
Roger
