Would be possible to export and import the Events module from one portal to another?

I noticed the Events Module does not have feature to Export/Import, could anyone recommend a proven process to accomplish this goal.

Thanks!

Currently there is no import and export, as you have noticed.

If you want to move the events from one portal to the other, this could be done by using SQL. You would have to figure out the statement, but this should not be that difficult (just change PortalId from the old to the new)..
If you want to copy the Events to another portal: this would be possible by SQL as well, but this is more complicated.

There is always a possibility to create an issue (feature request for Event), so we can take this into account for new releases. The link for doing this is in my signature.

Questions.

I was hoping to import events from other system using the following sql statement:

insert into events   (moduleid, eventdatebegin, eventdateend, eventtimebegin, duration, eventname, eventdesc,    importance, repeattype, every, createdby, createddate,   approved, portalid, signups, maxenrollment, enrollroleid, enrollfee, enrolltype,   location, category, LastUpdatedAt, OriginalDateBegin, LastUpdatedID, OwnerID,    EnrollListView, NewEventEmailSent, DisplayEndDate, AllDayEvent, RecurMasterID, DetailPage, DetailNewWin)  values  (  416, 'Aug 13 2007 12:00AM', 'Aug 14 2007 12:00AM', 'Aug 13 2007 12:00AM', '1440', 'title', 'description',  2, 'N', 0, 2, getdate(),  1, 0, 1, 12, 1, 0.00, 'FREE', 1, 1, 'Aug 13 2007 12:00AM', 'Aug 13 2007 12:00AM', 2, 2,  1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0)

It didn't work. The problem is item RecurMasterID. I guess I have to insert the same event into EventsRecurMaster first, then Events. My question is why? Does this mean EventsRecurMaster table is the main table to store events? Thanks.

Luke
