Yes, you will need to re-install the Events module from scratch. The problem is that the DNN  module install mechanism did not honour the case of folders when created in early DNN 5.x versions. Just upgrading to DNN 5.2.3 will not resolve the problem since the directories names will not get corrected.

Uninstalling the module will remove the folder structure. Re-installing will then create the structure scratch. I won't go into details, but it is all to do with how we apply skins to indivial module instances, where you may have two module instances on a page with different skins.
