Hi all

I'm sure this is me being daft, but I have downloaded the events module and installed it on my hosted DNN. All ok, and on adding the module to the page it looks pretty good as a month view calendar. Nipping in to settings to change a few things such as permissions and container, when I come back to the page all formatting has gone and I have a very very basic text based month view calendar, which is not what I want at all.

Thinking I'd changed something vital I played with some settings but nothing worked. I removed the module and re-added but this time just went in to settings, did NOT change anything but pressed "update" and BANG the formatting has all gone again.

What's going on here? The DNN version I am using is 5.0.0. I might have to go back to Google calendar which looked good but wouldn't let me add events/appointments via my website.

All help gratefully received, thanks in advance

John

This has nothing to do whatsoever with the Events module, but everything with the version of DNN you are using: this version (DNN 5.0) has some (cincorrect) UPPER/lower case sensitivity on folder names. The solution is simple: upgrade your base to DNN 5.2.3. As for the Evenrts module: the lastest version (Events 5.0.3) is recomended.

Ernst Peter,

Thank you for such a quick response. I will talk to my website hosting company tomorrow to try to arrange this as I don't know whether I have sufficient rights to do the upgrade myself.

Thanks again,
John

Hi

I've had my DNN upgraded to 5.2.3 but the problem remains exactly the same, which is really very disappointing. I've tried removing the events module, re-adding, going in to settings and pressing update - the same thing, it loses the formatting.

Should I try deleting and reinstalling the events module itself?

Regards
John

I posted a message this morning but I'm not sure it got through, so I'll post it again: My hosting company have upgraded DNN to 5.2.3 as discussed, but disappointingly the problem remains. I've tried removing the module from the page and reinstalling but it still loses all formatting when I press "update" Maybe I should reinstall the module package itself? I'll try this and if anyone has any other suggestions then please let me know. Otherwise I'll have to abandon the events module. Regards John
