Hi all

I've got the events module running successfully and am playing around with formats. Bearing in mind my limited experience of DNN generally and reluctance as an old VB programmer to get too deep into CSS, can anyone help with these questions?

1) In list view, is it possible to change the format around so that I can have a picture first, then the date and some text about the event next to that?
2) Again in list view, can the formatting be changed so that descriptive text is nicely wrapped? I can't see how to change the TR height, for example, which would allow me to make each row a better height

Actually only 2 question. I'm sure I had more than that but I can't remember the others now. I hope someone can give me some pointers.

Thanks,
John

I think all the things you want to do can be accomplished without actual programming.

The file "EventList.ascx" in DesktopModule\Events contains the display format of the listview. If you can candle HTML, it should be easy to change the lay-out of the various columns, even with something like NotePad as text editor.

Advise: DO NOT EDIT this on your production site, create a local playground until you are satisfied with the result, then copy the EventList.ascx file to your production environment.

Please be aware that you will loose your changes if you do any upgrade of the Events module with a (new) Install pack.

Sorry, work is busy so not my usual responsive self. An alternative also would be to use templating of the description column to achieve the same effeect. In effect create a table within the description field to lay out the columns as you want them. Then hide the ones you don't want elsewhere from the list of columns displayed.

Cheers
Roger

@Roger: elegant solution! No code change and all done in templating. I will add this solution to our FAQ documentation on CodePlex.

Do you have a sample ready at hand?
