Could someone shed some light - v05.01.01 RC1 won't build because of a couple of issues in EventList.ascx.vb -

* 'SelectedCategory' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.UserControl' (around line 117)
* Event 'CastegorySelectedChanged' cannot be found (aroud line 367)

Line numbers are approximate and within 10-20 because I have some other code added to the file.

It looks as if your project dependencies or references are not correct.
In the Events solution, there are 2 projects: Events and the Events Schedule control. The project Events should have a reference (in the solution) to the Events Schedule control.

The SelectCategory control is used in all the main views, so if you don't get the error in Month view I think your project should have references OK. Selectedcategory is a property of the SelectCategory control which is of type 'Global.DorNetNuke.Modules.Events.SelectCategory', which should be part of the main Events project. Try remving and re-adding the control to the List View ascx and check the type is set correctly in the designer.

Thanks for the replies Ernst and Roger.

I identified the cause - the auto-generated designer files have incorrect references after any changes made to the corresponding ascx files. For example, EventList.ascx.designer.vb would auto-gen and change 'Protected WithEvents SelectCategory As Global.DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.SelectCategory' to 'Protected WithEvents SelectCategory As Global.System.Web.UI.UserControl'.

I'm not sure how to let it auto-gen and have it keep the correct references, but at least it's easy enough to correct them each time an ascx file is touched.
