I have installed the events module in dotnetnuke installation with source code and referenced the project from dotnetnuke.

The problem I am getting is I cannot switch to code view from the design view and in the code the controls are showing not declared

Can anyone please tell what I need to do to solve this problem?

you shouldn't reference it from DNN project, but open Events solution and adjust references to DotNetNuke.dll in bin.

If you open the properties of the project in Visual Studio it will tell you which ones you need to reference, because there will be a list shown of which some will show as broken (e.g. Dotnetnuke.dll). You just need to re-link the broken ones.
