Hi!  I am a happy Events user (6.0.4) on DNN 6.2.6.  We are testing DNN 7.0.4 and, after a few CSS tweaks, everything looks good except our Events module.  It's not so bad - seems to be due to the Telerik controls are larger than the previous controls - but the Category drop list obscures the event control (list or calendar).  This is accentuated by the "Category" label (in a SubHead div) having vertical-align: top (in my skin.css).  In Calendar view, the Today text box abuts the Category drop list.  I loaded 6.1.1 beta just to see if any time had been spent on this (I see in earlier posts that the team was not satisfied with some layout elements - maybe this is on the list).

Everything works well, but it would be great if it looked as professional as it functions.

Best,
Scott

Hi Scott,

So far I have only done enough work on the module to make it work on DNN 7. It's just a matter of finding the time to fix it whilst still allowing it to look ok on DNN 6.

Hopefully get done before we release 6.1.1.

Just to keep people informed.

We are a long way down the road of getting a new version of the Events module out with some important new features including Anonymous Enrollment and Social integration. We are keen to get the final version released, therefore we do not intend to hold this release up in order to make the module aesthetically pleasing in DNN 7.

To make it look better in DNN 7 is currently fundamentally a CSS issue, so those who are leading the way in using DNN 7 should be in a position to update the supplied the themes to improve the look and feel. If there are issues where inline styling is preventing corrective modification of themes please let us know, we will then attempt to remove those blockers before we release 6.1.x providing doing so won't hold up the release.

The module currently ships with 9 different themes, which is something of a burden to maintain. So we do intend to review these themes to see whether the number can be substantially reduced whilst still allowing admins some flexibility of colour choice out of the box. Reducing the number of themes should then enable us to deal with styling issues more readily to ensure that the cosmetic appearance is optimal across the supported versions of DNN.

Thanks
Roger
