 I want to upgrade DNN from 5.1.2 to 5.2.2.

1. I downloaded upgrade package of DNN 5.2.2 and uploaded it to my root folder
2. When I browse mysite ony this error message was appeared :

 

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 5.2.2

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

I changed connectionString in release.config with previous connectionstring but this error still persists.

Please anybody who havw any ideas.

continue using previous web.config, do not touch the file manually.

I re-uploaded the upgrade package and browsed http://mysite.../install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade then the same error still exists.

I didn't make any change to release.config and previous web.config. But if i browsed main domain http://mysite... then it appreared :

 

This site is currently Unavailable

Please contact ... for assistance

did you make sure, all files are properly unzipped hierarchically and uploaded into appropriate folders overwriting exisiting files?

 Yes, i unzipped the package properly. I uploaded the package to my site root where web.config is located, overwriting existing DNN 5.1.2.

Is there anything I missed? Any ideas please? thanks
