Upgrade looked to go smoothly, but HTML module broken (and possibly other things) after upgrade.

Host account showed the following error when logged in and viewing web page:
An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: An entry with the same key already exists. ---> System.ArgumentException: An entry with the same key already exists. at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowArgumentException(ExceptionResource resource) at System.Collections.Generic.SortedList`2.Add(TKey key, TValue value) at DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.DesktopModuleController.GetPortalDesktopModules(Int32 portalID) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlPanels.IconBar.BindData() at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlPanels.IconBar.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I had to rollback to the previous install as this was a live server with 20+ sites on it. I've never had a major problem with an upgrade before, but this was a big one!

I've just carried out a test upgrade from 4.9.5 to 5.2.2 and had no errors logged, however I am now seeing the exact same issue described in this thread.

I can switch to the classic control bar and the error goes away, but the classic bar is no good because it partly displays to anonymous visitors.

I know the iconbar was updated recently and it must obviously have a problem. I'm wondering if I can revert to the previous iconbar in the meantime.

oh, I should say the HTML module is not broken as in the first post here. I'm only seeing the iconbar error described.

Just so you know it's not an environmental issue - like it's just you - the exact same situation happened to me. I'm working on a 4.08.03 to 5.2.2 upgrade and got the same error. Had to roll back too. Hmph.

At the time, I tried a few things that I found in another post... namely deleting a few files that pertained to the old text/html module and installing the latest version of the text/html, but it had no effect.

I also tried using the new install DNN files, but again, no change.
