I cannot be more frustrated than I am today.  Why is DNN 5.4.4 having problems with modules which need to send emails.  I am now completely strapped as I cannot downgrade to an older version of DNN until 5.5 emerges.  I created Contact Us forms using Dynamic Springs forms module.  I assumed everything would work flawlessly as Dynamic Forms shows it is compatible with 5.X.  This is not a shot at Dynamic Springs and Chad as they run a top-notch organization and pay every attention to detail.  However, I am learning today that this problem is a core problem with DNN 5.4.4.

How in the heck can this oversight occur?  I can understand some oversights but email functionality problems that appear to span most modules is a significant and glaring issue.  It is crippling my ability to deploy sites and I am looking like a complete idiot because who would have thought to test email as a potential shortfall to the framework.

It could be my ignorance and lack of understanding as to the core programming of DNN.  If I am missing a rather obvious workaround please let me know what I can do to mitigate further frustration.  At this point, I have spent countless hours reading blogs, talking to my module providers and everyone is pointing back to DNN and this futuristic release of DNN 5.5 as the answer to all of my problems.

I guess my question then can be answered with a simple response.  When does DNN plan to solve this email glitch and when will the DNN 5.5 holy grail be released?

Dennis - In that entire post, you haven't actually provided any details about what "email problem" you are having.  Without specifics there is no way to determine what the cause is, much less when it will be fixed.

Just a couple Gemini posts related to this, I am bringing this up again because from what I can tell with the 5.5 beta code the function call still exists and the gemini posting (the most recent one doesn't show that its been fixed).

First gemini (shows that it couldn't be dupliated): http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/F...

2nd gemini (shows that its open and verified in 5.4.4)

I recently made some other observations here:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/F...

I hope that this is fixed soon because we have many customers that have been reporting this (probably 15+ now and the list is growing)...  the email functions within our application(s) have not changed in a very long time (if they need to I would be happy but it seems to be inconsistent and also happens with some core modules as reported in other posts related to Admin/Newsletters).  So... Whatever changed needs to change back :)  These might already be addressed in 5.5 but if not I wanted to follow up again on these.
