I have two web sites that I'm trying to get to 5.4.4 and they just will not go.  I upgraded each of them to 4.9.5 just fine (using this recomended approach http://www.willstrohl.com/Blog/EntryI...), but ran into the error "Web.HttpResponse is not defined" that many others seem to have on other threads.  I tried the upgrade package and the install package (yes, updated both SQL strings and the machine ID).

I finally tried to roll back and just go from 9.9.5 -> 5.2.3.  That worked great!  OK, so I'm now on the 5.x platform, but I'm getting the same errors now trying to go from 5.2.3 to 5.4.4.  Not sure what else to do from here.  One site has a total of 5 pages and uses the html module and the repository module.  That is it!  It really does not get any simpler.  The other site has more pages and uses a third party module for web 2.0 stuff......  Still these are very basic sites, I don't understand why they won't upgrade and what the problem is..... :(  Any other pointers would be greatly apprciated.  I can upload logs and even the site DB if it would be helpful.

Thanks,

Chad.

Hi Chad,

Your problem is result of namespaces conflict in XML or Char or some other module.

3 solutions for you, just choose any of them:
1. Open App_Code and search files with text "Web.HttpResponse". After that replace "Web.HttpResponse" with "System.Web.HttpResponse" in every of them
2. Upgrade XML module prior to DNN upgrade
3. Just use DnnAutoUpgrade module for DotNetNuke upgrades. It fix such problem automatically without any problems for user.

Seems like it might the XML module from other posts I've read.  Can you upgrade it or uninstall it and try again?
