I don't know how to search and see if anyone else has ever had this happen.  I'm working on upgrading a DNN 4.9.5 site to DNN 5.5.1, since there seem to be a few problems with 5.6.  I started the upgrade by installing a copy of my production site on my laptop.  Thanks, by the way, for the new upgrade instructions, everything went very smoothly using those, UNTIL I started checking my site to see what was working after the upgrade.

In the middle of my home page, in the second position from the top in the Content pane, was an iFrame module, displaying a PDF in my portal root (the first one in alphabetical order, in fact).  That iFrame module doesn't exist on my production site, I didn't create it on the test site, I have no CLUE how it got there.  Has anyone ever seen this with 5.5.1??  What is going on here?  Yes, I know it's just a module and I can delete it, and I will.  But it unnerves me when modules install themselves!   Could I have done something to cause this?

My other upgrade issue is with the Events module.  I have version 5.0.2 of Events, and I have 9 months of rehearsal and performance schedule data in it on the production site.  The events module on the test site looks normal after the upgrade but it has no schedule data in it.  Is this normal?  Is there an upgrade to Events 5.0.2 that I ought to get?  Advice gratefully appreciated.

More on the rogue iFrame module:  it's apparently only visible when you're logged in as host.  The module permissions show locks on View and Edit for administrators.  Edit, but not View, is checked for the roles content administrator and staff.  When I log in as my own ID, which is a content administrator, I can't see it.  How can you edit something you can't see?  How did this happen?  How could it happen again?

DNN Events 05.00.02 is not compatibile with DotNetNuke versions 5.05.00 and later. You will need to upgrade Events to version 05.01.04 which can be selected and installed from Host --> Extensions (Install Available Extensions button). When I upgraded a site from 05.04.02 to 05.05.01 the other night I forgot to upgrade Events first and also noticed all of my events were "gone". You'll be happy to know they "reappeared" following the upgrade of the Events module.

DNN Events 05.01.05 RC is also available and may be downloaded from the CodePlex site: http://dnnevents.codeplex.com/release.... This is the same version which recently passed Release Tracker testing and is just awaiting to be renamed as the latest official release of the Events module.

Regarding the mysterious IFrame module - that is very strange. I've certainly never seen a module randomly appear on it's own without human intervention. It might be interesting to look in the TabModules table of the database to find out its CreatedOnDate.

Great, thanks for the tip on the Events module.  Now that I have all the Extension controls working, upgrading is no prob.  I may just wait for the latest release; I can't take the upgrade to production until the latest Gallery module comes out of beta, as we discussed in the other thread.

I have no clue about the iFrame module; I've never seen anything like that either.  I'll check the tabModules table and see what it says.
