I just upgraded my test copy of DNN 5.2.3 to 5.4.4, and everything looked pretty good, but I still had a problem with the Documents 4.1.1 module.  A little Googling produced the solution (to pull the 4.1.2 module out of the 5.6.2 install package, rename it and install it).  But the Extensions page doesn't show any of the usual installer links at the top:  no Install New Extensions wizard, no Create New Extensions, and no Install Available Extensions.  Also, the only dropdown is Filter by Type; there's no dropdown for Find Available language Packs.

We use a commercial skin, InSkin Light Purple from CyberspaceSolutionsInc.com.  I thought it might be the skin, so I did Restore Default Skin, and the links still aren't there in Minimal Entropy.  I tried both skins in both FireFox 4 and Internet Explorer 8, same results.

This is a showstopper, I can't put this version into production if I can't update extensions.  I'll try redoing the test install, but the install showed zero errors.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,

Are you sure, you are in "Edit mode" ?
You are loged in as superuser (host) , not site administrator ?

Just to check , if you are not forget the basics :)

Sacha, I'm absolutely sure I was logged in as host.  I can't swear that I wasn't in view mode; I wish I had a dollar for every time view mode has bitten me!  But it's also possible I had a corrupted install, or a corrupted upgrade, because today when I tried to load the site again, both FireFox and IE said, "can't load page," and muttered about unresolvable redirects and not accepting cookies.  Rather than try to figure out what was wrong with the browsers, I assumed the site was corrupt, blew it away, reloaded from my backup site and re-installed 5.4.4.  This time when I went to Host > Extensions (definitely in Edit mode!), the all the extension wizards were there and I was able to fix the broken Documents module.

I'm calling it a corrupt site install, and I'm calling it fixed.  Thanks for reminding me that view mode will do this to me every time!
