I have a website that uses a custom login page running on DNN version 4.9.4.17 that has been working fine.
I have cloned the site to test if the upgrade will go through with no problems
I then went to upgrade to latest DNN version 5.X & was warned to do so in steps so I upgraded the original site is 4.9.4.17 to 4.9.5 with no problems. I logged on and tested multiple pages - and logged out of site with no problems.
I then upgraded to version 5.4.4 as suggested and the upgrade went through with no errors.
When I logged into the site all seemed fine but it would not allow me to log out of the site (in IE version 8)
When I logged in on an older version of IE or in Google chrome I was able to log out but it placed me on the default login page not the customized page and gave me the following error:
A critical error has occurred.
You have been redirected to this default Login Page because the Login Page set for this website does not contain a valid DotNetNuke Account Login module, or the permissions have not been set correctly.
I did go check and the Permisions for the custom page and they are set up for unauthenticated users - I believe this is correct?
I also checked that the site settings were still pointing to the custom page for logging in and out and it was.
Was there something changed in one of the newer versions between 4.9.5 and 5.4.4 that related to login pages?
will upgrading to the next version possibly correct this?
Any help will be appreciated.
