We recently upgraded from 5.6.2 to 6.0.1. When viewing the site as an unauthenticated user, everything is ok (I actually have to run more tests, but lets say it's fine right now). The problem is that when I login, the site enters a redirect loop, and every page is unaccessible until clearing the cookies and other session data. It's hard to tell whats causing this, I simply enter the right credentials and I never get to see the site again. Both Chrome and Firefox report the same error.

Any ideas? Perhaps there's something I need to do before upgrading... Is there any guide specifically for upgrading to DNN 6?

I would suggest you take a look at the site via a http proxy such as fiddler - it's likely that a redirect is being caused by something such as pages being set as secure but no SSL certificate is configured, and the httpproxy should give an idea what is happening e.g. 301 or 302 redirects.

I took a look at it with Firebug, the "Network" tab lists several GET errors alternating between 302 "Found" and 301 "Permanently moved". The headers of the requests list something related to friendly urls, and we are in fact using a third party friendly url provider. I'll see if the developer of such extension has released and update for DNN 6, if he hasn't I'll just change the provider to DNN's default. Thanks for the tip!

Carlos were you using a third party localization extension?

I also had same scenario and it was very hard to troubleshoot 302 redirects. Let me know your case, maybe i can help.
