Hello Experts,
I do not want to hijack the following thread but I am getting similar results as the thread posted.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

My upgrade was from 5.06.03 to 6.0.01

It acts to me like the lack of edit capability is a permissions issue.  I see no errors.

I do not find any errors in the logs when logged in as an admin (same log that shows me the upgrade happened and logins)

I also wanted to note I have a third party menu that works when I am back to 5.06.03 but disappears when I try the upgrade as well.

I uninstalled the 3rd party menu and I still had no edit capabilities.

I also tried a different skin just in case my old skin was causing an issue

Still no luck.

Brainstorming...
Does 6.0.01 require different permissions?
I can't remember if I ever changed the editor... I thought I heard that I could do that... maybe the editor I have is not compatible?
I have had DNN for a long time so I guess it could be something left over from a real old Install?

I heard rumors that 6.0.02 is in the works to fix bugs... if this isn't one of the bugs I am wondering if I should maybe start building a new site from scratch.  Ouch!

Hopefully someone has an idea that can get me going.

Regards,

Chris

Did you get any failures during the upgrade, if so, please check your logs from the install and event viewer.

Thank you,

James,
Thanks for the reply...  it is weird that I see no errors and yet the site is unusable after the upgrade.

I have decided to go with the following strategy.. (my DNN install is old and has gone through many upgrades)

- I Installed the latest greatest 6.0.1; using the web installer
- I am now using the default skin to build my new website (my old skin used tables instead of divs)

I am thinking this fresh start will help clean things up; yes it is painful but my site will be better because of it in the long run.

Thanks

Regards,

Chris
