Hi guys

Can anyone help me with this: after upgrading from 5.6.3 to 6.0, I find that I can no longer log in. From the default page, the login link works OK, but then on the standard login control, the login button is not responsive, it doesn't invoke a postback when clicked. This is not browser specific. My DNN site is not customised in anyway. A slightly different problem arises when I subsequently upgraded to 6.0.1, in search of a fix - the login popup does accepts the credentials but then the underlying default page reappears without a successful login taking place, so perhaps the postback is still not working here either? Can anybody advise about how to proceed, and what might be causing this issue? Thanks very much.

Regards

After trying this upgrade again from scratch, I saw that the upgrade of the HTML_Community module was failing with an 'Error' on the upgrade report page. Given that this is a pretty vital component, I can't help thinking that the login button issue is just a symptom of a deeper problem. This module upgrade failure means something serious is corrupted, am I right? I find this remarkable, given that I have hardly dared touch DNN to make modifications since installing the previous version. Can anybody help me find out what might be wrong, given that I can't login, even as admin. I have .NET 4 running on a Win2003 Server with IIS 7.0, and the IIS site is pointing at .NET 4.0 before the upgrade is invoked, is this correct?

Thanks

Futher info, if it is useful:

I've tried setting the IIS site to use .NET 2.x, and as a result the web.config does seem to be updated to to use .NET 4.0, but the login and button format problems are the same. Is this something to do with the use of jQuery in DNN 6.0, and why would the CSS for the button be problematic in Firefox but not IE?

I get this series of errors in the upgrade report:
00:00:07.281 -   Installing Package File HTML_Community_05.04.03_Install:  Error!
00:00:07.374 -   Installing Package File Messaging_01.01.00_Install:  Error!
00:00:07.406 -   Installing Package File Taxonomy_01.01.00_Install:  Error!

My previous upgrades, through 5.6.0 -> 5.6.1 -> 5.6.2 -> 5.6.3 all appear to have completed with no problems, so I am a bit stuck about how to troubleshoot this issue with the latest upgrade to 6.0.

Cheers

very odd - can you view the source of the page and check if "function __doPostBack" can be found - i saw this issue occur once before when a user was using a tablet that was detected as a downlevel browser that did not support javascript so asp.net didnt emit any (including that function which causes postbacks)
