I have DNN 6.0.1 running under Windows Server 2008 64-bit.  I tried switching ASP.NET 2.0 to 4.0, and I get the following error:

If I switch it back to ASP.NET 2.0, it works fine as if nothing had happened.  I looked in the web.config file and couldn't find any line which contained "Version=4.0.0.0".  Why won't ASP.NET 4.0 work?

Can you clarify "running" this file?  Are we supposed to copy the contents to the root web.config file?

Thanks for the clarification. I ran the merge, changed to .net 4 in IIS but now I get "Page not Found" when trying to load the site. I checked some of the permissions on the .NET folders but I'm not 100% sure I have covered all the bases. Any ideas?
