Hi! I've tried to ugrade my DNN 5.6.6 installation to DNN 6.0.0 but after ugraded in site settings I'm no able to set any site appareance (Logo, Backgroud, favicon) because I do not have permissions to view any files on the file system.

In Event Viewer I don't have any exception and the upgrade process is finished withour errors.

I've also tried to upgrade to DNN 6.1.2, but the issue is still there.

Going in file manager I can see all permissions right.

All this happen with host user.

Something go bad after upgrading! How I can fix this issue!??

Thanks!

I've solved and understand when the problem occurred.

It is a problem that occurs when you update DNN 5.x to DNN 6.x on a site where there is no admin user defined.

I had not realized that there was no admin user defined because I work with host user, however I think it is an upgrade issue.

Scippy.

I'm having exactly the same issue.
No permissions in the folders and being logged in with Host.

Now in the user list, I do not see an Admin user.
If I try to add an "admin" user manually it comes up saying that the user code already exists so I cannot create it.

Any idea how we can fix this ?

What you mean with "try to add an "admin" user manually"?

You must add a new user from user menu and after add administrator role for this user.

I'm having this same issue. It's when logged in as a host user only on the root portal. From what I can tell the other portals are working ok when logged in as host.

1] If you use the rich text editor and access the images everything is blank.

2] If you go to site settings you see you don't have permissions above each control that accesses files like the logo upload.

I've tried to upgrade my 5.6.2 portal using the suggested upgrade path and also each individual upgrade between that one and the latest.

I do have admin users on the root portal, and it doesn't seem to affect anything. I have added new super users, double checked app pool identity / folder permission access - not sure what the exact issue is. I'm using DNN Professional for this site, and submitted a ticket Monday but no diagnosis yet.

This has all been done in a staging environment, and I have successfully upgraded some other sites to the latest version of 6. Not sure what the deal is with this one!
