Hi,

Please help me! I attempting to upgrade our DNN site from 5.6.3 to 5.6.4.  I make it past the permissions check, but I am getting stuck at the DB installation.  Installing Database version 5.0.0 returns success but when the scripts are run the only output that appears is undefined...Success.  Its seems that the installation is stuck at the ProcessAction client call back handler when at line 1526 someAction <> nextVersion, which commits a "Attempt made to run a Database Script - Possible Attack"  message to my logs.

I am running the upgrade locally in the Visual Studio 2010 hosted webserver.

I have seen this issue pop up in another thread, however none of the suggested solutions have yielded a positive result.  If anyone could provide me with a push towards a solution to this problem that would be much appreciated.

please make sure to use UPGRADE package, where no database installation should be performed, just execution of the upgrade script. I suggest restoring all files and database are start upgrade again.

Thanks for your reply, and sorry for the following wall of text. I would just like to confirm that yes I am using the UPGRADE package, I am following the upgrade steps in the bundled README under the Documentation folder.  I have had my database restored to a clean state.

When attempting to navigate to localhost/DotNetNuke_Community I encounter a  redriect loop, the same is true when localhost/ is hit.  If I hit  localhost/Install/InstallWizard.aspx the wizard begins, the permissions check passes, I am able to enter my database credentials.  I make it to the "Run Database Installation Scripts" section - "Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...Success"  is the first message I receive followed by an infinite loop of "undefined...Success" messages.

I have traced execution of the installation code and when ProcessAction is initially called the value of  someAction  is being passed as "5.0.0", which is compared to a value of "05.06.04" ; this is causing the InstallWizard to enter into a callback loop.

I am about throw in the towel on this upgrade and look to manually run the database upgrade .  I have a relatively clean instance of version 6 (which is the version we ultimately wish to get to) running with all of our custom skins and modules installed, just without any content.  Rather than crafting my own script to migrate our tabs and content over to the version 6 database, is there a way I could use the scripts included in the version 6 upgrade package, or is that a fools errand?  Again thank you for your help, any assistance you could provide to get me unstuck would be appreciated.
