I have been testing a new site locally in DNN Community Edition version 6.2.0. I plan to shortly create a live site in Profession Edition, which I am currently purchasing.

Initially, I want to stick with version 6 and then upgrade to version 7 next year when I have tested the compatibility of my modules, etc. However, if I try to update version 6.2.0 at the moment I am directed to install version 7.

My question is whether it is possible to stick with version 6 and continue to upgrade beyond 6.2.0. If so, where do I find updates for this?

Grateful for any advice in relation to the above, and whether staying with version 6 is normal/advisable/etc.

Many thanks

DNN downloads are available at: http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/releas...

The issues with staying at 6 are:
- If new bugs are found in 6, will they be patched?
- Will updated modules support DNN 6?

The newest version of 6 is 6.2.5.

Click no to download v7 and look for a link on the right side of the page for prior versions and get 6.2.5.

LIke you, I just launched and have no plans on upgrading to v7.0 right now although support for 6.x is something I'd like to know more about.

According to DNN version strategy, support for major versions are ending 1 year after subsequent version has been released, i.e. there will be security updates for DNN 6 until Nov 2013.
