Hi,

After upgrading DNN from 7.2 to 7.4, I am receiving following error in active forums.

I want to use Social Module and Active forums together which is not owned by DNN. Is there any alternative forum module I can use?

Here is the Error I am receiving.

I have clients running Active Forums successfully in DNN 7.4.2.
Which module do you mean by "Social Module"? ActiveSocial is no longer supported, you should migrate to DNN core modules (Messaging, Social Groups, Journal and User Profile).

Hi,

My client is using Social Groups 7.4.1.

Active Forums 6.2.

We want to create forum groups for each groups in Social Group show them in discussion section.

I am not able to go to Control Panel of Social Group, neither able to create any forum. It is only giving error the one above I given.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall Active forums. But still getting same error even after upgrading module.

As client says issues started after upgrading DNN to 7.4

We are using Active Forums successfully for a client in Social Groups. DNN 7.4.2
You might try using DNN default Skin to make sure, no skin code is interfering.

Accepted Answer

I solved issue with adding entry in web.config.

<section name="cryptography" requirePermission="false" type="DotNetNuke.Framework.Providers.ProviderConfigurationHandler, DotNetNuke" />

  <cryptography defaultProvider="CoreCryptographyProvider">

      <providers>

        <clear />

        <add name="CoreCryptographyProvider" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Cryptography.CoreCryptographyProvider, DotNetNuke" providerPath="~\Providers\CryptographyProviders\CoreCryptographyProvider\" />

      </providers>

    </cryptography>

Thanks for Help,

Sandeep
