Hi all

I've run test upgrades from my old multi-portal 7.4.2 instance to 8.0.0, and 8.0.3 and 8.0.4

The test to 8.0.4 failed at a db script so I tried the earlier versions.

Both earlier versions failed at the Analytics module. The log says:

"progress":52,"details":"ERROR occured - Installing Module - DNNCE_GoogleAnalytics_08.00.03_Install.zip","check0":"Done","check1":"Retry Errors 1"

I've read a couple of threads on this issue but can't determine a fix from them. If it's not fixable, can I remove that module from the upgrade and ignore it? Do I just delete it or is there an install script I need to modify?

Thanks for any advice on this.
Rob

Hi Rob,

I have the same issue, but only on SQL 2016

Thanks Barry. Was that a link to a specific issue on the tracker? It just went to the homepage.

I've just now done more tests and have got past the issue by deleting the Google Analytics module from the upgrade package. The installer obviously just installs everything within the folder and so it doesn't miss it.

That got me to the next failure, which was the same issue with the Security Analyzer module, so I deleted that as well and tested again.

That finally gave me a successful upgrade, but there is no login box and so I can't get into the site for any further assessment.

I'll go search for that now and see what I can find.

Rob

It looks like the problem with the Analytics module is to do with using the old Oliver Hine Analytics Evolved module. The upgrade seems to try to delete that module, butnot entirely and so it then confilicts in the db when it installs the new release. Not entirely sure how I'll deal with that without having to delete and redo Analytics for all portals.

The Security Analyzer on the other hand fails to install on 8.0.3 with the message: Failure A newer version of this package is already installed - 8.0.2

Seems the module included in DNN 7.4.2 has a higher version in the manifest than the one in 8.0.3 has.

Regarding SecurityAnalyzer module, most likely you downloaded latest version from Github to test your site and for some reason it has a newer version assigned than included in DNN 8.0.3. DNN 8.0.4 should include latest version though.
