Hi,

We have a DNN website on version 7.2.1 which we are upgrading to DNN 9.0.1. We are following the below steps

Upgrade steps:

1) We have downloaded the DNN 9 community edition install package using "http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community/..."

2) Unzipped the package after unblocking it and replaced all the website contents.

3) Modified the web.config with new entries found in the install package.

4) Upgraded the website by executing URL http://localhost/[your website]/Install/Install.aspx?mode=upgrade

The upgrade in step 4 goes well, however we are facing the below Issues:

1) The DNNFriendlyUrl "humanfriendly" is not working. The same was working fine with DNN 7.2.1

2) We are unable to see the Host Settings with Persona Bar. For this we need to switch to Control Bar but again here we do not have Host Settings >> Page Management.

We are not able to proceed further on upgrade and not sure if we should continue with DNN 9.0.1 or should wait for a more stable build.

Any help here will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Don't use the INSTALL package, use the UPGRADE package

You can follow the basic steps in this process (this is upgrade from one version of DNN9 to another, but the process still applies)

Hi Chris,

I tried exactly the same steps as per the you tube link and upgraded with upgrade package of DNN 9.0.2, but issues are still there. Below are more details about both the issues:

1) The DNNFriendlyUrl "humanfriendly" is not working. The same was working fine with DNN 7.2.1

>> We have product listing page and for each product we have hiperlink to navigate to the product detail page. We have below url pattern which works fine with DNN 7.2.1. In the below URL "{ProductName}" is replaced with listing product item name which is the title of the detail page and "{ProductId}" is replaced with the product id normally a number like 3434. It will be like the below Example. Now once the URL is hit it throws 404 error.

http://Website Root/{ProductName}/MeetingDetail/{ProductId}

Example : http://Website Root/Red T-Shirt/MeetingDetail/3434

Please review and suggest if there is any breaking change after dnn 7.2.1 as the same was working fine.

2) We are unable to see the Host Settings with Persona Bar. For this we need to switch to Control Bar but again here we do not have Admin >> Page Management.

Please help!

Thanks,

Chandra
