I am trying to learn how to develop modules.  I have bought some books on DNN module development and read all the ADefWebServer tutorials.  In my most recent tutorials and readings, I'm seeing a lot of momentum surrounding LINQ.  I'm so far out from actually developing the module that I'm looking at the steps/process of module creation in hopes of understanding what I need to do before I actually do it.  With that said, it seems that LINQ may make some of the process more efficient.

My question is are any of you trying to learn module development and also encountering information on LINQ ?  If so, how does that alter your envisioned module development process?  or does it not alter your steps in any way?

Also, I'm a big fan of Lynda.com video tutorials as well as LearnVisualStudios.net because I learn better visually.  Does anyone know of any kind of video tutorial for DNN Module Development?  As in, from start to finish of a simple module?  I wish I could find one somewhere.

Thanks for any input,

Clint Patterson

LINQ (or more specific Linq to SQL) simplifies your development process, because you may create your statements dynamically within your business layer code without fear of sql injection etc. There are a number of LINQ2SQL tutorials on MSDN.microsoft.com (and other places of course), and imho it is worth learning. Be aware, however, your modules will not be able to support other databases than MS SQL server.
