Hi,

I have a page which I need to access the user id.  It does not inherit from DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase.

How can I simply access this?

If the page is an .aspx page is would suggest that it inherits from DotNetNuke.Framework.Pagebase which will provide access to PortalSettings and localization.

To obtain the UserID you can use the shared GetCurrentUserInfo method of DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController as follows:

Dim UserID as Integer = DotNetNuke.Entities.Users.UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo().UserID

Note that if the user is not currently authenticated, UserID will be -1.
