In following through tutorials and working my way through this book, I've noticed something that isn't similar in my project files.  The book references a folder called "Providers" which I can plainly see in the screenshot they provided embedded in the text.  However, when I create a new web project in Visual Studio (using the VB or C# DNN Compiled Module Template) the folder structure is created for me, but the "Providers" folder is not there.  The folders I do see are "App_LocalResources", "Components", & "Documentation", but no "Providers".  Is this something that I'm supposed to create manually or am I missing a step in this process.

Thanks again for your help and insight...

Regards,

Clint

Providers is a folder you can create manually, or if you use one of the Visual Studio Templates it may include that folder for you. By "this book" I assume you're using Mitchel Sellers' module development book?

 Chris,

Thanks for your quick response.

I am using a template that I downloaded from this site.  I believe it was called the "Starter Kit".  I installed a .msi file and now I have the DNN module templates present in Visual Studio when I start a new project.  I select the template and it creates the project structure for me, but it does not create the Providers subfolder.

Since it's not creating this folder for me, I can do it manually, but I'm unsure of which files to put in the folder.  Should I just put the 01.00.00SqlDataProvider in that folder or does it matter if the folder is even there given that it's not part of the project structure that the template creates? I know there is a certain structure that I need to follow, but the absence of this folder is confusing me some.

Please forgive the elementary level of my questions, I'm a brand newbie and am still trying to get all this stuff straight in my mind (and in my hopeful application/module).  The jello hasn't begun to form yet... Trying not to get frustrated.

Also, by "this book" I mean chapter 13 of DotNetNuke 5, Open Source Web Application Framework for ASP.net .  Though, I do have Mitchel Sellers' book right here as well, but it's a little advanced for me at this stage of the game.

Thanks again for any insight...

Regards,

Clint
