I just noticed this error that was next and this must mean that there is an issue with the GridViewPager "name".

Ok, I think I (finally) have it solved.  I'm going to post this here for anyone else who searches the forum to fix this error.  I followed the instructions on this page:

and my site is now able to build without (serious) errors.  I don't know why, but changing the "CodeBehind" to "CodeFile" in the ascx files in the DynamicData folder does the trick.

Relieved.
