I developped a module for internal use in the company, but when deployed it gives

A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have searched the web, tried different things to fix it, but no avail. What am i doing wrong?

So, it works fine when i run it in visstud, but bogs when i copy the files and run it on the target machine.

When checking in the eventlog it shows this.

I think your connection string may have changed in the dbml configuration. Check to see that the connection string is set to SiteSqlServer in the connection properties of your dbml file

I think you are new at linq ...
- first try to remove all your codes from page load .. exept linq and other classes..

then try just a show simple linq abject to run.

i am using same procedure that you gave adef web sample and works.

- second if you are using 5.4.3 really u must upgrade to 5.4.4 it solved nearly all my problems.

- and last thing is if you are using attached file thing stop using it. use regular db with sqlexpress/sqlserver

i wish you solve your problems.
