Hi
I am Coming from a VB6 back ground if I needed a "Code repository" I would create a Module with many sub routines and or functions that could be called from any application as long as there was a reference to the Module in my app. One could simply add the module to the applications references and then they could call any routine in there. I could also create a class and do the same but with a little more detailed work.

I have inherited a series of DNN modules that really should have some of the code in a general repository so the code is maintained in only one place. Each module will need to have access to the code. There was an attempt at this using a simple .VB type file but is is copied into each modules component folder which defeats the purpose.

The questions are:
  1. Should I create a class of just a .VB file?
  2. How do I add the reference to each module project so that it is compiled with the code but not actually copied to the projects directory? Thus the ability to maintain the code in one place.
  3. If I should use a class do you know of a quick tutorial that may show how to create, required properties and  how to reference the file in each of my projects?
Any relevant information would be appreciated.
TIA
