I have NAnt installed and it builds properly. It appears the paradigm is to have one VS solution per module. I prefer to have a top level solution containing all my modules. However, when I remove the individual solution created by the VS template and include the project in my overall solution, the NAnt script fails because it is looking for a solution with the module name in the module folder.

Should I modify the following and can the template be made to use the project rather then the solution?

<target name="Compile" depends="init">
    <exec program="${sys.env.windir}\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\msbuild.exe" failonerror="true">
      <arg value="${subproject.name}.sln" />
      <arg value="/p:Configuration=Release" />
      <arg value="/p:Platform="Any CPU"" />
    </exec>
  </target>

You likely could modify the template to make it do whatever you want, but you'll need to know the proper NANT syntax for doing so. You might check out the MSBuild templates instead for another solution.

I think its best to wait till 4 is supported by default. I'll compile under 3.5 and run IIS on 2.0.

After installing VS templates and Creating a new project I modify <module>.build to use the aggregated VS solution instead of the individual solution.

  <target name="Compile" depends="init">

    <exec program="${sys.env.windir}\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\msbuild.exe" failonerror="true">

<!--       <arg value="${subproject.name}.sln" />   -->

       <arg value="..\..\..\dnndev.sln" />

       <arg value="/p:Configuration=Release" />

      <arg value="/p:Platform="Any CPU"" />

    </exec>

  </target>
