i'm setting up dnn at @GD: I have DomainNameA hosted as my main site and I also have a 2nd name: DomainNameB registered with them. I want to add DomainNameB to my DotNetNuke installation. I believe I have the dnn side configured but I’m not sure what settings I need in DNS Manager. I changed the DomainB A @ record to the same IP as my hosted DomainNameA dnn install – is that correct? I have also noticed the nameservers are different. Should they be the same? What about CNAME. What else do I need to do in DNS Manager?
I posted these questions to GD-S and there 1st response was this:
If the application is hosted on the root of the account, and you have made the correct changes within the application, I would recommend changing the primary domain on the account. Here’s how:
Managing Your Hosting Account Domains
my reponse:
My DNN is not installed in the root. Can I move it to the root? I was told GDS that it’s not possible.
Theirs:
I’m sorry, that was my mistake, DNN cannot be installed moved to the root of the account based on the permissions it needs to write. You should be able to simply add the domain to the account and have it resolve to the directory that the application resides in.
I have the Economy account - is that the problem?? I don't have much to work with in IIS.
