I am not sure which forum to put this in.

I have a client that sells jerky. He has three price lists. One for everyone. One for military personnel. One for commercial clients. By assigning roles I can set it up so that only military can see that price list page, and same with commercial clients. For this to work they need to be assigned roles at the time of registration. It is a busy place, they would only be able to take time for this every few days, which means the web site would generate nothing in sales. People don;t sign up to buy something 3 or 4 days from now.

Can the registration system be set so they can click military and put in the last 4 digits of their military id (actually this won't be verified so any string would work. Registering in this way they would be auto-assigned the role of subscriber. Similar thing for commercial, they would have to give a state abbreviation and a license number space, again no verification, just auto-assignment to the translater role.

Can this be done? I assume it can be, but can anyone give me a price estimate and timeline?
